Plot Contest « Thread Started on Jul 29, 2008, 10:51pm »
To kick off the opening, I figured I would have a plot contest, so that the members could get a head start on points and such. Just take in the general theme of The Quiet right now {as in the feel of the site}. Write one paragraph. {Not too long and not too short}. Basically, you write whatever you want the site to be about {no alliances though} and the one I find the most interesting becomes our plot for version one.
{Enter As Many Times As You Want}
{Ends: August 15}
Winner will get 300 points Runner up will get 200 points Everyone else who enters will get 50 points.
It happened not extremely long ago, but long ago that none living can recount it exactly and the equines only know of it from the stories from their ancestors. The darks, neutrals, and lights used to live together, of course not peacefully but it soon came to a head. Nobody knows exactly why the three went to war, but they did, none that fought came back alive, but there where bystanders who waited to relay the infomation. When the runners did relay the information the eldest of the colts decided they did not want this to come about so the denounced their former allainces, and most of the other younger generations came about and the elders died out slowly as did their allainced ways. Time has passed and the foals are learning that herd-life is the most important and to stay quiet about the allainces that had roamed long ago when many lost their lives.
((meh, it sounded soo much better in my mind but at least it's an idea and if it's used feel free to change some stuff around))

The wars of the alliances are natural and normal. Everyone as heard of them, and most have picked sides. Of course the lights are trying for the upper hand over the dark, and vise-versa. And, of course, the Neutrals are trying to remain neutral anyway possible. But, what if the wars were not the worst things to happen to the equine? What if the wars only brushed the scale, whereas, some new threat endangered ALL, save a few traitors?
Not long ago the Equid kingdoms to the North of this great land, flourished as this one does. The equine had their wars, and their mates and foals, and everything was rather normal. Until it happened. No one had ever heard of such a thing happened so far away from the ocean. But it had. The typhoon has been driven so high that it scattered against the inland, destroying most in its path, save a few royals and most of the equine in the southern part of the Equid kingdom of Esacpale. So, with destruction in every direction, the equine left turned south.
More equine meant larger heard, right? No problem in any way. Until the previous Lord and Lady of Esacpale decided it was their duty to assume control over our great land. This was certainly not what everyone had planned, so it quite shocked a few. We had our Lords and Ladies and that was enough. They controlled us, so why did they need controlling? No one, including the powerhungry darks, wanted these two and their loyal followers to assume controll. They were already stealing our mates and instilling fear into our foals. Now they wanted to controll us all? We could not just stand by and let them take the lead. We had to fight.
Did that mean that, for once, all of the alliances would join forces? If only to drive out the new equine, could we stand it? Could Lights and Darks alike set aside their deep rooted hatred of the opposite alliance, and work together to drive out these unwelcomed and unwanted leaders? Or would we, in the end, turn against eachother as always, and destroy all of our hopes of freedom from those two?
The battle of the ages has begun.
Will you stand beside the new leaders and hope they grant you immunity to their lies and terror?
Or will you join the force of the alliances and help drive out the sadistic royalty?
OR, can you stand on the sidelines watching and not feel guilty when one or the other is destroyed?

alien invasion of course;
t'is simple to see the lands have been peaceful and eye pleasing for some time, no blood has spilt and no reason to let loose the dogs of war. a sensation that cannot last forever, though oh how simply divine such sensation of everlasting serenity sounds. the lands have been peacefull for some time now, and as the equines inhabbiting them have become more and more placid in the calm settings they are in for a rude awakening. the invasion of the unknown cannot be feared, for well one has never known of such possiblity. little are the free roaming equines aware that alliances and love is the least of their few worries. for in the world surronding thier peace and beauty, war and confusion has broken out. the earth is slowley being killed, its resources fading fast and the effects are finely taking thier toll on the many odd creatures living within the world.
from lands far and wide equines and creatures flee, in fear of the sick lands transmitting the deadly disease to themself. few have escaped unhinged, while others are carriers of the sickness that is crippling though not always fatal. it appears that the quiet is part of the few remaining pieces of heaven on earth, unplagued by the war and natural disastors. though the lands so quiet and serene are in for a loud awakening when the neighbors move in. loud music and unhealthy thier new citizens are not exatly what the lands need, though tension hasnt been overy present it rises as someone must be to blame for the sudden invasion. the finger is being pointed, while the lands are disintigrating before thier eyes. slowley at first as the plauge has yet to take over, as the equines of the queit are no longer at ease.
the once perfect picture has been torn from the wall and ripped from its frame, and some diseased stallion has drooled on it some. while many equines fight off sickness others have banded togeather in deciding what should be done to the new group of intruders. should they be killed off, or chased away? perhaps giving them a herdland of thier own would settle the problem. as the ideas increase so do the opinions of many, each equine seems to think thier idea is the way to go. meanwhile the imposing beasts are leaving thier mark and making it deep... will the lands of quiet ever be so serene and well quiet again? t'is up to the disicion of those powerful, and while thier word awaits the strain can be felt by every equine both native and not...
ooc; erm these "aliens" dont only have to be horses, this can be changed just a simple idea kinda came up with it as i wrote

Ok this isn`t something I` written up to look all fancy and such like these others. It`s a spitballed idea that i`m sure I could placed in my mind to make alot more to it. But this deals with alliances.
There would be three allianced kings. All new auditions. A dark, neutral, light. The works. And then there would be other things such as fates, spirits, and then three goddeses of each alliance. I`ll make up names for them later. They give quests, powers, disasters, and foal stats. Thats all I got so far. It`s a bummer
